The Hebrew Roots movement (HRM) which encompasses Messianic Judaism and both in fact are one and the same, just packaged differently in order to deceive more people, is gaining momentum in these last days sad to say, deceives many today even. Here too many Jews who have accepted Christ as Messiah, are attempting as the Jewish Christians in the early church, to mesh Grace with Judaism under the Old Covenant, making all inclusive with one another the Works of the Law, as well as the ordinances, such as the Sabbath and other holy days and combining them with Christianity. The great Apostle Paul had much to say about this in his letters to the early church. Read the book of Galatians where Paul addresses this heresy and warns the early church that if they follow this teaching, they have fallen from grace. God will not restore the old Judaic Religious System, because Christ came to fulfill what that system could never do. The Laws, ordinances, feasts and festivals all pointed to Christ, but they were only a shadow of the true God Jesus Christ. Those who know Christ in His fulness will not and cannot hold onto or return to the old religious system under the Law. For when they receive Christ they are set free from the law of sin and death, which is what the OT law was. Jesus Christ is NOT a religious system and he denounced the Religious Jews who followed the Law with studious and practiced devotion, because he knew it could not save them. Christ Jesus is unique and His ministry was unique in that he showed us the only way to the Father, He is the Lord God who came to die for the sin of the world and trusting in his blood and grace alone is all sufficient for sin. Any thing added to that or taken away from that, makes his death in vain .

Some of the errors in the HRM, or ANY, for that matter, who classify themselves Messianic Jews today are:
1. They call for Christians to recognize extra-biblical Jewish books, which are supposed to give fuller understanding of the Greek New Testament. In fact some go so far as to proclaim the Hebrew Scriptures are the authentic scriptures, not the Greek text of the KJV Bible.

The New Testament was given in its original, inspired from the Hand of God, in GREEK, not Hebrew. Most of the extra-biblical Hebrew “scriptures” that the HRM is seeking to foist onto the Christian Church are ancient writings, often with occult and mystical sources, traditional material which are NOT Scripture at all. They are extra-biblical sources of knowledge.

When these Judaisers sought to draw the Christians of the Galatian church back under the Judaic Religious System, Paul warned the Galatian church to not give credence to their arguments for they were perverting the Gospel of Christ.

And the Hebrew Roots Movement claims falsely that the original Gospels were written in Hebrew, or possibly Aramaic, and that the Greek New Testament is a mere translation and in some cases a mis-translation of the Hebrew or Aramaic originals. They have even gone so far (some of them) to conclude that Paul’s writings where he addressed the heresy they teach, were re-written by Rome and are not authentic. Of course they cannot prove this, but it is enough to cast doubt in their adherents and justify themselves in their error. This movement is seeking to cast doubt on the faith once delivered to the church by challenging the very Scriptures we have been given by the Lord. They claim Christians can’t fully understand the Scripture until we understand the Torah. But the opposite is true. You will not understand the OT (or the Torah) until you have true revelation of the NT. And if you have true revelation of the NT, you will not allow yourself to fall back under the weak system of the Old Covenant, because you will know the liberty you have found in Christ fulfills all.

Judaism IS a religion and it definitely isn’t a race like some have suggested. There are Jews of ALL races the world over. Judaism HAS distinct ethnic groups in itself, but that does not make the entire group an ethnicity. Ashkenazic (German or Eastern European), Sephardic (Spain and Portugal), Mizrahim (Middle Eastern, North African) and smaller subgroups exist. These include: Indian Jews (Bene Israel), Romaniotes (Greece), Italian and Chinese Jews. The customs are different, so are the base languages as a whole etc..

To clear up the ‘who is Jewish’ thing: Someone is Jewish one of two ways (according to Judaism):
A) Their mother is Jewish: If someone takes up another belief they are an apostate. Should they *want* to return to Judaism, they wouldn’t have to convert back into the religion, but apostasy implies a number of things, like not being buried in a Jewish cemetery for example.
B) One converts into the religion: Judaism doesn’t proselytize (because we understand that it’s not for everyone), but if someone wants to convert, by all means they are welcome to.
Being Jewish IS religious and not ethnic..Why do people want to know this? Of what relevance is this issue to being Jewish? Is Judaism an ethnicity? No. Although Judaism arose out of a single ethnicity in the Middle East, there have always been conversions into and out of the religion. Thus, there are those who may have been ethnically part of the original group who are no longer part of Judaism, and those of other ethnic groups who have converted into Judaism. . According to the simplest definition used by Jews for self-identification, a person is a Jew by birth, or becomes one through religious conversion. People are free to convert into Judaism; once converted, they are considered the same as if they were born Jewish. This is not true for a race. Clearly mainly here, there is a religion called Judaism, a set of ideas about the world and the way Jews should live their lives that is called “Judaism.” The fact is that Jews, whether one is descended by maternal lineage from those who stood at Mount Sinai and accepted the Torah , or whether one is a proper, full convert, or whether one is maternally descended from a proper, full convert, they are required to fulfill the Commandments of the Torah, Talmud. Judaism is studied in Religious Studies courses and taught to Jewish children in Hebrew schools. Jews are clearly not a race. Race is a genetic distinction, and refers to people with shared ancestry and shared genetic traits. You can’t change your race; it’s in your DNA. I could never become black or Asian no matter how much I might want to. Common ancestry is not required to be a Jew. Many Jews worldwide share common ancestry, as shown by genetic research; however, you can be a Jew without sharing this common ancestry, for example, by converting. A Jew could also be someone who converted to Judaism. Proper and true converts to Judaism are accepted as full Jews. Thus, there are Jews who have been Black, Asian, The traditional explanation, and the one given in the Torah, is that the Jews are a nation meaning a group of people with a common history, a common destiny, a common religion is undeniable.. Of course, Judaism is a religion, and it is this religion that forms the central element of the Jewish culture that binds Jews together as a nation. It is the religion that defines foods as being kosher and non-kosher, and this underlies Jewish cuisine. It is the religion that sets the calendar of Jewish feast and fast days, and it is the religion that has preserved the Hebrew language.Besides that you have to be dumb if you do not think the Jews preach they are a still chosen people, a false religious teaching of theirs. Should Scriptures be interpreted or should they be read and understood? When men claim that Scriptures are subject to interpretation, what they normally mean is subject to explanation according to their denominational view point. Case in point Acts 2:38.
God’s Point of View: Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let everyone one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall received the gift of the Holy Spirit. (NKJV)
Man’s Interpretation: Peter said to them your sins were forgiven and you received the gift of the Holy Spirit the minute you believed. Repentance and water baptism follow forgiveness from sins and reception of the gift of the Holy Spirit.
God’s point of View: Acts 2:38 Peter, “All of you must turn away from your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then your sins will be forgiven. You will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.(New International Reader’s Version NIRV)
Man’s Interpretation: Water baptism is simply an act of obedience and is not essential to the forgiveness of sins. Receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit precedes repentance and water baptism.
God’s Point of View: Acts 2:38 Reconsider your lives; change your direction. Participate in the ceremonial washing of baptism in the name of Jesus God’s Anointed, the Liberating King. Then your sins will be forgiven, and the gift of the Holy Spirit will be yours. (The Voice VOICE)
Man’s Interpretation: Bible commentaries and church catechisms are more accurate than the Bible.

Man’s Interpretation: God is not smart enough to guide men into an accurate translation of the Bible. It has to be explained by Priests, Preachers, and denominational leaders.

If you don’t listen to the Voice of God, you will never grow; you will never know from what to repent; you will never receive his changing, purifying grace; you will not find God; and you will not have any reward in the Kingdom of God or Christ. One of the sole reason that so many people do not get their prayers answered, and they do not have still now, today a deeper spiritual relationship with God is that they are still disobeying God, they still do have unrepentant sins in their own life today. You cannot walk in sin, in disobedience to God and also walk-in God’s will at the same time. One always has to first obey God. his Word and renounce one’s sins, sinful ways. The Bible still is not superior to Jesus and the Bible is not equal to Jesus as divine revelation. Jesus is God’s perfect revelation. The Bible is the record of God’s revelation. To the experienced, true Christian believer It is undeniably clearly that the Holy Sprit is the persons, individual that will lead and guide us into all truth, even explaining the Bible to us now as well.. We all are told to come to Jesus directly.. How can anyone live without the Holy Spirit these days, they hear the voice of man, the devil, demons but what not God? for there is great danger that most of these persons will subordinate the Living Word of God to the fallible interpretations of men, the false worship of mere men, objects too… Too many now are bowing to the Bible more than to Jesus. The Bible has become an idol. Even worse, a lesser idol has been forged
The false Demotion of the Holy Spirit, Jesus OR The Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit OR The Neglected Person Of The Holy Spirit IS ALL UNACCEPTABLE TO GOD STILL.. The People with an empty, imposturous Christian spiritual life now next turn even to idolatry to wrongfully try to compensate for their definite void, guilt feelings, their failure to reach, acquire a deeper Holy Sprit led, filled, spiritual life in Christ…. They instead now falsely promote, do encourage the keeping of obsolete commandments, the worship of men, creeds, history, doctrines, things, places, books, videos, standards, code of ethics, appearance, beauty, nature, wealth, prosperity rather over the important truths, such as solely worshipping and loving God, Jesus alone, and others. I have often really wondered WHY EVEN SO MANY SO CALLED CHRISTIANS PASTORS and why so many even loudly professing Christians are still not even firstly filled with the Holy Spirit fully, and the most common reason besides carnality, self serving , unbelief is about the Money, even the cheating , stealing and lying related to it. The love of Money and what it can do is the root of all evil The Judas syndrome. Lying, cheating, stealing, income tax falsities, tax evasions are the common “acceptable norm” today for many. Yes, just cause you once accepted Jesus Christ even does not even make you still Holy Spirit filled now.. we all have to be refilled too all the while we also really still do need to get the full Biblical definition of sin and the understand that one staying in any sin is not an option for any Christian. No such thing as a little big pregnant applies to your sinful acts now too.. Sin grows.. Sin is disobeying God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, not just the Bible. Lying, thieving, even alcoholic, abusive persons, immoral priests, pastors, Ministers too who cannot even change themselves for the good now are of no use to anyone as well. (Ecclesiastes 7:1 KJV) A good name is better than precious ointment; and the Day of death than the day of one’s birth. A bad reputation even brings one great personal sorrow.. It now does not take anyone too long time to realize how many of our mostly self serving politicians, ministers, civil and public servants are big liars while they claim they are there to work on our behalf.. Their high, above average salaries confirm this truth too.
